Hi guys,

There is some horrible news out there and I am still just thankful they are not looking for us under rubble! I just heard that it’s a very real possibility that the Westpac building on high street might have to be knocked down... I hate Chinese whispers... but if this is the case, it goes to show just how bloody lucky we are!

Sadly, right now I don’t have great news for the shop. The building has been yellow stickered awaiting a report from civil engineers ...  Aidan and I were there today at the right time and were let in (the workers needed a toilet) and managed to grab the important things, including a couple of customers bikes. There are a few pretty good cracks in the building but it’s a guessing game at this stage to what’s going to happen to the building. For us, it was a bit of closure and saying what is possibly goodbye to our baby! It’s bloody sad actually and fair to say a bit emotional... to say the least!

I have decided to close the store till the end of the week, this way we don’t have the emotional rollercoaster of continued visits and playing a guessing game.  

The support from you all has been tremendous. It has got almost embarrassing trying to say thanks. The offers of help and support are so amazing, it’s hard to find the words to say thanks. Please know, every offer has been awesome and I am truly thankful for them and to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

One thing’s for sure... whether we have to close, move or repair... our mana and culture WILL NOT DIE!

I am going to lend a hand tomorrow at one of the many shelters offering assistance and may even hop on my bike that I rescued today. If anyone needs a hand cleaning up or anything, just send me a message or call, I would love to help. Thanks for all your support and wishes. All of the team are very humbled by it all!
