WOW, can you believe it’s been like 8 weeks since you experienced one of my “take an hour for lunch” emails? I have lots to share with you and I will try and do it in the shortest route possible... but I will still suggest you make a cuppa first!
Right, so I spent some time in the USA with family in July. It was so wonderful. I actually got to ride lots. Some days it was 40 degrees, but the tan was the motivator. I loved it. While there I got my close friend Ofeer into biking. He is a big guy, lost 40kg over the last year and started biking with me. The first ride 4miles, the next few 7-12 then 20.... it was only 5 weeks ago he started. He emailed my Monday to tell me he had just done 30 miles! He’s NEVER ridden before!!! He said “Scotty my man, you have changed my life” (in Israeli English).... I almost had tears, I'm serious. Cycling is my passion. When I started, there was no one riding, now my wee sport is actually changing lives. I LOVE CYCLING! I know you do to. Change lives with me folks!
We are frantically looking for a wonderful location for you to all share in. I promise you, we have looked at EVERY option, a house, building a shop, a warehouse, big shop, small shop, container shop... you name it, I have thought of it. But, we are getting close. I promise amazing parking, my fabulous and truly loved amazing team, the hottest sexiest kit, bikes and stuff. I apologise it’s taking a while, but I just don’t want to get it wrong. Our amazing Bedford row shop was well worth the wait... and I honestly, I just don’t want to have to move again in 6 months.
In the mean time, yes we are open. To give me the time to get out and find a shop, we are open Monday-Friday 11-4pm. SCOTTY BROWNS is operating from my little tiny bike shop/house here in Papanui. We would LOVE to see you. Just remember 11-4 or you will miss us. Our Ph# is still 366 3773. We still have bikes here and all over town, we have clothes, food, a spoodle and the workshop is 100% operational! Please still come show us the love!
I also wanted to share with you all that while in a very dark place after the Feb quake and wondering “why”... I had time to start to work on a dream of mine I have had for years. It was the perfect time to make the most of a bad situation. Sports management has been a direction I have wanted to take for over 10 years. Using down time to launch this company and with the passion I have to bring the athlete and company together, to make a marriage that works on all levels, SCOTTY BROWN SPORTS MANAGEMENT was born. I am proud to tell you all that my first signed athlete is no other than current NZ road champion and NZ cycling legend HAYDEN ROUSLTON. Hayden and I are working on some very exciting things together and over the next few months I will enjoy sharing with you all, his plans for the 2012 season, his new team and when he will be seen on the roads here in what we all think is still BEAUTIFUL CHRISTCHURCH! I will keep you posted on the other athletes I bring on board once we have them signed!
Right, lastly.... we have some amazing things planned for you over the next 4 months including rides, customer nights, the opening and launch of the new SCOTTY BROWNS. The bikes we have for you to buy are insane and we hope to add some wonderful fun exciting things to the new store to help you want to never ever go anywhere else!
Thank you all for the overwhelming support you have given us. It is astonishing that it’s been nearly 6 months since we were all enjoying the wonderful Bedford row store, laughing and loving cycling together. DONT YOU WORRY.... any day now.... you can bring us cakes again! YUS!
