Scotty Brown's Ruapuna Racing Wed Nights
Powerbuilt Raceway at RUAPUNA PARK
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS OCT 22 / 29, NOV 5 / 12 / 19, DEC 3 / 10 2008
(Note: there is no racing on Nov 26th as the track was not available)

Experience the excitement & thrill of cycle racing on an international race track. Smooth sealed surface, no vehicles – this is road cycle racing at its best.

All riders are graded according to their fitness level so you will enjoy racing with riders at a similar level as yourself. All grades start with 6 laps of the track and each lap is approx 3.44 km so total distance is around 20.64 km.

Later in the series we may increase A & B grades to 8 laps if they are all in agreement.

This type of racing is perfect for anyone wanting to:
• Gain extra fitness
• Add another dimension to your weekly training schedule
• Learn/practise the tactics and strategies of bunch riding
• Experience some great racing & having a lot of fun

• Train/Race in a car free environment
• Meet and socialise with other riders
• Learn how to bunch ride – see info below

BUNCH RIDING TUITION:
For anyone interested in learning to bunch ride, racing at Ruapuna is a great place to learn this skill. All you need to do is turn up, register yourself in the E grade category and be ready to go at 6:45pm.
Either Scotty or Aiden (from Scotty Browns) will firstly talk to you about bunch riding, then take you out onto the track and show you how to ride in a bunch.
You can stay in this grade for as long as you wish or if you are feeling confident and would like to start racing, simply move up to the next grade.
If you’d like to talk to Scotty or Aiden about learning to bunch ride before coming out, feel free to call into Scotty Browns at 81 Manchester Street - they’ll be happy to have a chat with you.
