
With a 100% carbon structure, the 595 is the most advanced frame utilizing LOOKs extensive knowledge and experience in carbon fiber. The 595 can be considered as an evolution of the 585 with the upgrade of multi shaped tubing technology. The goal of using such tube shapes is to improve lateral stiffness, which increases the responsiveness, and to gain vertical flexibility to maximize the comfort. The lugs shape is also increased on the side to reinforce the lateral stiffness of the frame.
Because the seatpost is not circular it cannot rotate, due to this feature it is not necessary to over-tighten it. It can be secured with 5 newton meters of torque. The seat post also sits on the frame; with the use of elastomers, the vibration absorption is real, and the seat post will not slide down. Isolating the seat post from road imperfections will maximise the comfort for the rider. This process maximizes also the stiffness of the rear triangle. For that particular matter, the rear wishbone and the rear chainstays are straight and not curved anymore. The seat lug and the seat tube are monobloc construction, one piece molded. This process reinforces the overall responsiveness of the frame. Using the same shape for the seat post and the seat tube avoids any disruption of the overall structure.
Additionally, to save weight and gain reliability the rear drop out are molded and integrated in the frame and not glued as alloy drop outs. The result is a monobloc concept Wishbone/rear base/ drop out.
Moreover, the bottom bracket is the most sensitive part of the frame where all the stresses are concentrated . Saving weight at this section needs to be handled with care to avoid weakening the frame. The high pressurised carbon fiber molding is the process that LOOK has developed to reach this goal. The carbon fiber positioning inside the mold , combined with the high pressurised process gives a result of exceptional lightness and strength. The bottom bracket weight is only 130 g, with 170 N/mm stiffness when assembled.
